Oh yes. Facebook is a great place for a back and forth discussion with multiple users.

For one thing, it's not anonymous, so I don't think it would suit the needs of a lot of people here.

It would be like pouring bleach on your decades old concert shirt.

OMG! Where will all the fat fucking shut-ins that post lunacy do all day?
Do you think the suicide rate will go up for those mentally disturbed posters that have only 4ct message boards as a means of interacting with outside life?

My god what a stupid decision.

This decision will do more harm than good for 4ct.

Thank god

I'm tired of seeing losers post "women do you think (insert random celeb name) is hot and would you do him? Or lols he is ugly why do women like him, *beep* Johnny wife beating Depp, Amber is a gold digger etc etc

Those weirdos can find somewhere else to vent about celebrities lives and looks they have become strangely obsessed about

Where do we go from here?
17

Will this include all image message boards as well?
I sense opportunities here..

Yes, everything.

I'm sure some enterprising, internet-literate users of this board will come up with an acceptable substitute within the next two weeks and everyone here can move wholesale to another site.

Stay tuned!

At least now SFBE will have more time to deliver those double-pepperoni's on his bike while wearing his favorite capri pants.

You have my email.

I wouldn't object to hearing from you from time to time.

We have been seeing more and more threats on here as the political landscape got surlier. Perhaps they are scared of being held liable if it moved into real life.

No, it's the whole thing from this to people discussing who's a better Captain, Kirk or Piccard. Guess they're going to have to find out the hard way when the advertisers for what's left start pulling the plug.

But this is just the political board. They are deleted everything.

You can close the message boards -- your choice -- but spare me the "positive experience" stuff about closing out what made 4ct great to start with while many tens of thousands of people are on the boards daily. Might be different if the whole thing wasn't already pretty much automated.

Did 4ct get bought out by corporate? Someone tell me what company did and I will never buy a single product from or go on one of their sites ever again.

You cannot shut down the message boards. One of THE very best things about 4ct as a source of discussion, in an environment that's easy and fluid to use.

I don't use Twitter for active discussions with anyone, and I refuse to use Facebook.

The easiest place to have conversations is here. If you shut down the message boards, you take away fully half of why this place is so useful.

I also completely do NOT believe the users are of a "small bu passionate" number.

You have 100s of users using these message boards and you know that!

As for the less that positive side -- yes, some boards have been ruined by troll activity, some of it now bordering on illegal (doxing, etc)

But that's YOUR fault for not taking moderating seriously enough.

Instead, your answer is just to throw the entire baby out with the bathwater.

You should keep the message boards but TAKE SERIOUSLY the fact that they ARE popular, so therefore also take seriously the fact that they need better and active moderation.
